Frances Goldman Simon

Frances Goldman Simon, born on November 29, 1924, in Norristown, PA, died on March 9, at the age of 99. She will be buried in her beloved hometown of Norristown, PA, where she was born and lived for 65 years (on Astor and Buttonwood Street).

Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, wife, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend, Frances cherished family above all else. She was a multi-talented artist – a soprano singer, actor in numerous plays, painter and pianist.

She participated in the “Mothers March on Polio” in 1953, acted in numerous productions and plays in and around Norristown, performed as a singer and pianist, all while working and raising a family with Richard “Dick” Simon, also of Norristown.

She was active in many community and religious groups in Norristown including Tiferes Israel Synagogue, the Women’s League, Jewish Junior League, Mother’s Club Council of Norristown Schools, Norristown Community Players and the Norristown Association for the Blind.
